Two Day Training
YUKO training consists of a two day course on Monday and Tuesday only. This training is for non-YUKO certified salons/stylists.
First day (Monday)
- Observation where our YUKO technicians will demonstrate the YUKO process
- You will practice on a dolly head (apply Solution (treatment), ironing for YUKO process) as well as take part in some of the demonstration by checking the model’s hair during the YUKO process
Second day (Tuesday)
- Hands-on training where you bring in your own model and equipment
- Once you have completed hands-on YUKO training, you will be given a certificate of attendance and log-in details with which you can purchase YUKO products on the day

・ Registered YUKO salon: £200 per stylist
One Day Refresher Training
Recommended course especially for those who have not carried out the YUKO process for more than 2 years or wish to refresh their knowledge and skills. You will need to bring your own model and equipment on the day. We suggest a maximum of two stylists working on one model. Your choice of G-EX soft, G-Cream Straight, or AntiFrizz.
If you would like to train using a model with difficult a type of hair e.g (very curly and thick) please contact us by email with a photo of your model’s hair.
Price: £80 per stylist
Workshop sessions are two hours long, where you can discuss and ask technical advice on using YUKO products.
The workshop sessions consist of:
- Technical information
- Product information
- Technical skill check (with dolly hair)
Price: £30 per salon (maximum 4 people)

We suggest a maximum of 2 stylists working on one model
- Model – we recommend models without bleached/highlights/high-lift/tint or relaxer
Please e-mail us a photo of your model’s hair before your training day (some types of hair may not be suitable for training purposes)
YUKO takes 4 to 5 hours on normal hair
For salons/stylists from overseas and outside UK mainland, if you wish us to provide a model, please contact Yuko-Europe at least 4 weeks in advance. Otherwise, you must provide your own model.
Equipment – all stylists must bring their own equipment:
- Flat iron with even heat distribution around plates and adjustable temperature
- Combs (jumbo and tail combs, not metal)
- Plastic clips
- Ear covers
We are able to sell some equipment on the day but supply cannot be guaranteed. Therefore the stylist must ensure they bring their own equipment as we are not responsible for this.

Lai joins us after six years at Yuko-Mayfair. She organises and leads the Yuko Academy in London. Lai as main leading instructor of Yuko Europe Academy
She has been trained in YUKO for over 10 years, working alongside with YUKO products, building her knowledge and skills. She has taught salons and stylists previously in YUKO Mayfair as well as being a YUKO stylist in Yuhei Hair Salon.
He has passed on his skills to other stylists throughout his 20-year-experience as a stylist and an instructor in UK and Japan.
He instructs his skills based on his experience as a stylist and instructor.
Yuhei is the manager at Yuhei Hair Salon and main distributor importer from Japan, building new skills and development of technical knowledge and information about YUKO products for salons and stylists.
Reiko worked at YUKO Salon in Aoyama, Tokyo as general manager. She moved to London in 2004 And worked at YUKO Mayfair before she started working alongside Yuhei for 8 years. Reiko is very passionate about Phiten and beauty products which is made to keep unnecessary damage to a bare minimum. She has taken part in the development of YUKO products at Phiten also has many clients who rely on her knowledge and skills.

Q. I am a freelance stylist. Do I need to belong to a salon to register and take YUKO academy?
A. No, you do not need to belong to a salon. When you register please put ‘freelance’ as the salon name
Q. Can I bring an interpreter?
A. Yes, you can. We hold academy only in English so we recommend you to bring someone who can translate for you
